Our greatest need is weekdays, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Central (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern). Evening and weekend tutors are welcome too: tell us when you can teach.

One student, one session

Each session is you and one student, live on Zoom, usually for 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 1 hour. You decide which students you want to work with. You choose and adapt materials for each student, because every child differs. After each session you write session notes, and SpecialEdResource provides AI summary tools that make note-writing mostly copy and paste.

In a tutor’s own words

Samantha, smiling

I enjoy working one-on-one with students and helping them build both academic skills and confidence. Each session is a little different, and I use interactive activities, games, rewards, and individualized strategies to keep students engaged and make learning feel fun. I also appreciate the support and flexibility I receive, which allows me to focus on meeting each student where they are.

  1. Apply in about two minutes

Tell us about your certification and license and when you can teach, and add your resume.

  2. A short call, if you qualify

If your answers meet every requirement, you get a phone number and a personal code right after you apply. The call with our AI assistant takes about 10 minutes. The call is recorded, and a person on our hiring team reviews it and makes every decision.

Questions and answers

Can I apply if I live in Arkansas?

Yes. Arkansas is one of the 14 states where SpecialEdResource can currently employ tutors, and the job is 100% remote. The state that counts is the one you live in, not the one that issued your license. The requirements are on the job page.

Do I need an Arkansas teaching license to tutor with you?

No. The requirement is special education certification and a current teaching license, both from any US state. If your license has expired or is inactive, you can still apply, as long as you’ll renew it before you start.

I retired from teaching in Arkansas. Where can I read ATRS’s rules?

ATRS, the Arkansas Teacher Retirement System, has its own rules on working after retirement. Our page for retired teachers quotes them word for word. Confirm your own situation with ATRS at (501) 682-1517 or info@artrs.gov.

When are sessions?

Our greatest need is weekdays, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Central (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern). Evening and weekend tutors are welcome too: tell us when you can teach. Available hours depend on student demand and schedule fit. Pay and schedule has the details.

Is this a W-2 job?

Yes. You’re a part-time W-2 employee of SpecialEdResource, and training is paid.
